i had a friend give me his old xbox and after modding it last night with an old smartxx, i tried to burn a bios and dashboard to a dvd to flash it with and the disk doesn't show up, i can't ftp, and i can't get an autoinstaller because xbins is down.

Did you try DVD+R? Also name the bios bios.bin

Smartxx.com has a ton of information, we can't help you with #Xbins since this is Xbox-Scene and it's not X-S's problem, however I've noticed the Xbins bot name has changed it's name in the past.
