(Japan) Tales of Vesperia pushed Xbox 360 above PS3
Posted by XanTium | August 11 23:52 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From news.vgchartz.com:
[QUOTE]
Xbox 360 Software - Tales of Vesperia debuted for the Xbox 360 this week. The preliminary data puts the game at 113,000 units week one. Considering Blue Dragon is still the only Xbox 360 game to top 103,000 units in Japan, Microsoft and Namco have to be quite happy with how the game has done so far. From the Tales push, expect Xbox 360 hardware sales to hit 12,000 to 20,000 units this week.

Expect PS3 hardware sales to remain in the 8,000 to 12,000 unit range this week.

As unlikely it is to happen, I really would like the 360 to sell decently in japan. Get a taste of western gaming and have it grow on them. Hopefully the Xbox Japan division will attract more Japanese devs in the future...

I agree, It would be fun if the 360 could sell better over there. Hopefully, better sales can attract more japanese developers to publish games for that system.

Such a shame that the US and EU versions won't have optional japanese voices. I appreciated that in Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey. I really like to listen to the japanese voicecasts.

I don't think there into racers and FPS's to be honest, personally I think Fable 2 will do well over there to. They like weird and wonderful games. Maybe MS should focus on the Arcade/XNA front for that, because it seems only a decent Japanese game comes out every 4 or so months on the 360.
