I have searched hi and low for an answer with no sucess. Is manually setting the booktype to DVD-ROM a thing of the past and no longer required for burning your backup disks? I have the latest BenQ ixtreme firmware and use XBC 2.8.

My discs play fine without setting the booktype and everything checks out ok via DVD Mulleter. My burner is a Samsung SH-S203B and has the latest firmware but I cannot find anywhere to manually set the booktype to DVD-ROM. How can I check to see if my burner is automatically setting it to DVD-ROM?

Setting the booktype is no longer required. The newest firmwares get around that.
