Got a ms25 drive was working fine for a few months, then it started getting dirty disk errors when backups were inserted, play originals just fine. I upped the voltage to the laser, that didn't help at all, I even replaced the laser, still the same problems. I've tried all the different speed settings in the latest firmware to no avail. What could it be?

Sounds like you may need to replace the drive.

Did you try Verbatims from Singapore?

I'm using Verbatims, don't know if they are from Singapore. They at one time did work, so i don't know if that would be the problem.

Hmmm
Either use Verbatims then or get a completely new drive from ebay.
Get the same version then you can swap PCB board and down have to reflash...

Try to get a brandnew one from China then you wont end up with the same shit as with the laser...
