Has anyone noticed how the real developers in the scene don't behave in this way?

For those few people who actually have the skills to keep Xbox homebrew alive, it has nothing to do with ego. All I see from you and BP is just classic inferiority complex, or what in the UK we often refer to as the small-man syndrome. You make a relatively minor contribution and then demand the same level of recognition (or more!) as the developers that are actually producing and improving the software that you are merely supporting.

I've never had a problem with your project. But the way you hyped it and yourself up as if it were God's gift to the Xbox scene always grated because it was blatant nonsense. It even got to the point where you were trying to get into some kind of pissing contest with nes6502; the guy that gave us 3 of the most polished emulator ports on the system! Do you think he felt the need to slap his name all over those projects or whine because he wasn't getting the recognition he deserved?

BP is the same (only more hilarious). He stitches together a few old emulators using a simple commandline system, puts a new skin on MAMEoX, and then wants people to believe his work is on a par with madmab's or freakdave's! Even all the BIG features in his upcoming release are just a bunch of Xbox games that he's decided to stitch into his grotesque human-centipede of a project. And he's behaving as if it's a major step forward in the scene. But as long as he has those 4 people who post on his forum feeding his ego, he'll keep labouring under this delusion and (based on the fuss he makes) this seems to be his primary motivation for what he's doing. Surely the laughable ridiculousness of this isn't wasted even on you.

If you both viewed your respective projects with a due sense of perspective and displayed some motivation other than to be worshipped as Xbox gods then what you've done would be vaguely respectable and you certainly wouldn't have rubbed so many people up the wrong way.

It's just interesting how you're now both behaving exactly the same way and it's that that sets you apart, and has always set you apart, from those who really keep this scene going for the right reasons.

+5 Good Grief. I've been away from the scene for years, and yet it's still the same. Ressurectionx still writes novel length retorts to any comment he feels is unjustly directed at him. And he still has a serious ego problem. He feels that since he spent "half of his twenties" on the project he deserves some kind of God-like "legacy" in the xbox scene. I wish he would realize that it was his choice to spend his time in such a fashion and I wish he would somehow find the work he did worthwhile for himself instead of having this unrealistic and unfair notion that he deserves anymore than a "thanks a bunch." from the rest of us. I am thankful that I now have the option to make all my emulators super cool w/ videos/screenshots/game synopsis/etc... but I for one am MUCH MORE thankful for the fact that I am even able to play these games in the first place; and last I checked, Ressurectionx had nothing at all to do with that.

Peace everyone, my several years following this scene have been a blast, but I'm probably out for good now. Best of luck to everyone (including Mr. Ressurectionx) in their future endeavors and happy gaming!!

Emuxtras is just what was spawned off of it from haters and wannabes and will drop off the map when I come back in full force.

We're like the team with no name.

No leader....

No one better than anyone else....

Nobody accusing anyone else of not doing their fair share....

No divas...

Just some people wanna get it done.

And who are in some cases giving away weeks or months or years of free time to give what is going to be the ultimate emulation experience to everyone. I don't know the names. I don't know a lot of our predesessors at all by internet name let alone real name.

It doesn't matter, and ours won't 10 years from now either.....

Just cool to be a part of it now.

Just to expand on above, any people new to ResXtras, unsure how to make use etc, feel free to drop me a line and I can point you to the Xtras Installers and Emu Installer. Majority of the major consoles that have Xtras are covered by them and are just a simple click it and forget it.

And I think just about every XBOX fiend is very appreciative of the work you did Rx and I hope to see you back at it again. Why work alone when there are many of us who would like nothing more than to help where we can?

To give them credit, aside from using everything our teams have done as bait, they haven't done really anything on any old school system systems.

Kind of hard to do when they are largely talentless....

I think it's going on.... uhhhhhh..... 4 years... without a single update to a single official RX release....



They have no interest in actually making new content for systems that 95% of us care about. They decideded they wanted to steal my "Xtras" idea and apply it to their New systems.

More power to them.

I just think it's funny how they took everything in this thread, and all that me and others here worked for, and made an entirely different forum for it. The only reason that forum is semi-legit is because the only thing they do is store illegal content. If they were legal like XBox Scene, they wouldn't willingly promote illegal behavior.

All I will give you is a legal front end to your Xbox games. You have to get them on your own.

If you want illegal content, please go to EmuXtras.com. They welcome illegal activity.

Wimpy, himself, who is the forerunner of EmuXtras, has said, and I quote "American laws don't apply here. We can and will get away with anything we want to here".

He's probably right.

Go and follow his example....

I think that everyone appreciates your hard work that you put into making the xtras for our old school systems. You put many years of work into this project and for that we are very thankful. However, you left your work with the rest of the community so that we could improve upon it and make it better. I'm sure that the community still cares about your work because they continue to compile content that can be used with madmab's emulators. I'm sure that madmab appreciates your hard work as well. If it wasn't for both of you, we would not have what we do today. You should be proud of yourself. But you have to remember that you left the community in charge of your work. It will never be the same unless you start working on it again. A wise man once said that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

I think that the best thing to do would be to think of emuxtras as an extension of your work. If you can accept that, then there is still hope for you and your project. If we can compile enough hd content for every game on every old school system, then we might be able to use it on other emulators other than our xbox. Wouldn't it be great if we could use this content on another system or even the pc if we could get proper emulators for them? I think that emuxtras is just future-proofing all of your hard work so that it can be used elsewhere one day.

Also, I think that there were no new releases for your sets was because no one really stepped up to be a leader and actually configured everything the way that you did. It must have been a lot of work on your part to do that for each and every system on our xbox. Just because no one has put out any new releases doesn't mean that there will never be any more though. This stuff just takes time and effort. And many people over there just do this sort of thing for fun. So don't be discouraged about other people using your work. They just want to improve upon it the best that they can. If anything, be proud of what you have accomplished.
