Exclusives are not important in this generation of games, because they are practically non-existent. Third party game developers make their games on both systems, so of course it's a non-issue at this point. How could exclusives be important if there barely any? You can't pick a system because of which one has the best games. Now, since both systems have the same games, you have to choose from other things like hardware differences, online capability, downloadable content, etc.
Personally, I hate this, because I spent money being both systems, only to see that they are pretty much equal in terms of game content. To be honest, if I didn't own 360 and PS3, and I had to decide whether to buy either system or both, I would only buy PS3 now because the few remaining exclusives(at least now) that PS3 has, are games that I've bought PS3 specifically for, it's a silent machine(which is important to me), it has free online play(which I barely use anymore anyway), and I like the interface better.
They do not have the same games, that's what sets them apart and makes this "console war" such a debacle, because of the fact they don't have the same games. That's like saying they have the same hardware. They share
some of the same games, but exclusives are what give the systems identities.
