The console price here is not expensive for what you get.
If you think it is too expensive, then I can see a way out, don't buy multiple 360 consoles or don't even buy one.

How is this even a news story this happens to us in the UK all the time. We pay more and get things later its just the way of the world. If we actually had an industry that made descent stuff then we wouldn't have to import it all the time and get screwed on import tax.

In the US its cheaper as thats where they make them so no import tax, tranport costs etc.
In Japan its cheaper as they have a massive gaming culture which Microsoft are determined to break plus I bit they have a hell of alot of excess stock over there they want to get rid of.

Common sense people. They don't need to price drop. Looks at the prices right now.

Also when converting to dollars take 17.5% VAT off the price to get the proper conversion.

Arcade £126 = $218
Pro £165 = $290
Elite £215 = $378

Wii £149 = $262
PS3 £248 = $436

Actually pretty close wouldn't you say.

That's not true, the 360 is mass produced in southern China and exported around the world. It's an American console yes but not manufactured there. If Microsoft were to have the 360 manufactured in north America it would no doubt end up costing a lot more. And in Japan it's only cheaper because nobody wants to buy it and Microsoft knows it. The UK gets charged more for everything because the majority of people here have the money and are happy (or willing at least) to pay the asking price. I agree with what Chancer said, the current price of a 360 is not expensive for what you get. Personally I don't like how we get made to pay more for most things either (especially Live and the accessories/games) but at least we don't get shafted nearly as bad as the Aussies.

Right cause I have heard many British kids say that N word ill only be renewing my gold if I can get a cheap redeem code of Ebay. The constant swearing and racial language makes it not worth it. Yes I can disable voice, but then I'm wasting half of the service.

I have to give so much bad feedback for people quitting games, swearing and just generally not being nice. Unless I go on Live in the morning most are Americans so I don't really understand what your argument is.
