I was given this Xbox 1.0 by a friend who has had it so long he can't remember the details. Closest I have found is a picture of an Xecuter 2?

Please help me ID the modchip it has in it, as I would like to flash it so it supports >137GB hard drive space

It shows up as "EvoX M8" and I have tried flashing it with such a firmware, through Slayers EvoX Auto-Install disc, but it complains that "flash is not writeable".

Any help appreciated on chip ID or how to flash it for >137GB support.

Thanks!

xecuter 2.6, 2 banks of 512K = 1024K total. Download Xecuter2 Bios Manager. Fill the banks with the bios(es) you want just make sure if they are 256K bioses that they are the same in banks 1+2 or banks 2+3 (1+2 in the program = bank 1 on chip and 3+4 = bank 2 on chip). Save the file, should now have *.bin file that is 1MB (1024K), boot up evox and switch the switch to flash enabled and flash away. Note that .67 on the bios files that you download = F~137GB G~the rest and .06 = just F drive, depending on the bios (or how you modify it) you can have F can be limited to 137GB or as big as you want, but if you have any partition larger than 250GB format that partition with XBpartioner and 32K cluster before you add any data to it.

Thanks for that. Good to know.

I read up and found out how to set the switches before flashing.

I just flashed using Slayers Auto Install disc, purely for ease of use because I do not have a PC only a Mac. And of course the Xbox! I used X2 4981.67 BIOS to gain control of the 100GB partition G of my 250GB drive.

I had to use UnleashX to format the partition, from within it's file manager.

Thanks again!

Glad it all worked out, yep should be no problem that you used unleash to format the HDD, since the largest partition is only 137 GB, Enjoy all the extra space and have fun felling it.
