hi all well i finally set my new system up and everything works (sort of)

i have 3 hard drives in my computer i shared drive F:\ completely (through SHARING & SECURITY)
everything worked like a charm only xbox could acess it everyone else locked out

i then tried to share a folder on my D:\ (called it FOLDERD) to the xbox but XBMC always asks me for a password to acess it i can see all the files and folders in the FOLDERD directory but everytime i hit A button to acess a folder or play a file it asks for a username and password when i have not set one up at all F:\ runs like a champ but D:\ is givin me the run arouns anyone have a resolution to this problem

thanks in advance

to make things even stranger i just tried browsing other folders on D:\ and they worked played files and everything so why doesn't FOLDERD let me view its contents and play the files contained in it?

Runnin XP Corperate SP3
Xbox connected to a belkin router no firewalls or anti virus running

The permissions on your shares don't always apply to all the files/folders within your shares. Especially true if files/folders were added to the share after it's creation.

Bring up the properties of an affected folder and select the "Security" tab. Make sure everything is correct there.
