GG2 Creator: Easier for a Small and Mid-sized Developer on 360
Posted by XanTium | September 10 10:11 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From siliconera.com:
[QUOTE]
* How come Guilty Gear 2is an Xbox 360 exclusive? This game looks like it could be a PlayStation 3 title too.

* Daisuke Ishiwatari: It was easier for a small-and-mid-sized developer like us to develop a game for XBOX360 than PS3. Also, since the main feature of the game is the network battle, XBOX 360 with organized network infrastructure was considered more suitable for the game.
This GG2 was the first title that we took the overseas development into consideration and since Xbox 360 had been widely used especially in the U.S., we wanted to challenge the system.

agreed - we have heard this many times before - the 360 is a great system to develop for - especially with XBL being the best dang live experience possible.

I imagine that programming to xbox it's easier than other platforms, because it's windows and directx oriented...

I don't really agree with your Live part, if anything I would say multiplayer on the PC is still the best with the option of dedicated servers. At least you get server admins to kick people that swear and be racist all the time.

I don't really know what this GG2 game is all about but sounds like he wanted a challenge I wouldn't exactly call the 360 a challenge to develop for lol. Just sound like an exclusive dig really.

I beleive it has more to do with the fact the 360 dev tools are (allegedly) brilliant.

i think you got the wrong end of the stick, they were saying they developed for the 360 because it was easier for them as a smaller developer.
