So just to confirm, this new tool mean you can retrieve all the necessary drive keys from the new Liteon drives without the need to do any soldering.

And then flash them into an older Xbox360 drive such as the Samsung with the onboard rom.

Note the support of "serial RS232"

Probably just have to solder it to the drive and not do any of the rest.

Soooo, it's basically one of those adapter you can make yourself, but most people probably won't do, with added USB support? The USB support is cool actually. I think this'll help a lot of people.

Why would I want to do that? What's the point of this product? Every time I see an announcement for one of these Xbox 360 hacking tools, they never tell me why I would want to buy it.

Well it saves having to make your own PCB up to dump Lite On drive keys, which is the latest 360 DVDROM in the newest consoles. Because there's no 'hacked firmware' for the Lite On yet, you need to get the keys off the LiteOn so you can flash them onto a hackable DVDROM such as the Samsung or Hitachi.

Theres no tutuorials on this yet and the information is still vague, so we're still left wondering if we need to solder the points on the LiteOn which was necessary before - and I'm guessing that we do, so really the only difference between this and a Xeno/Xecuter Connectivity kit is the USB to Serial adaptor (which is nice but not essential if you already have your SATA setup) and the fact that you dont need to make your own PCB.

At $45 USD I'm thinking I'll wait for Team Xecuters version, it will be cheaper (to compete with this tool) and will hopefully have Lite On write capability!!! This is Team Xecuter we're talking about here, they have made some very nifty gadgets in the past for Xbox1.

Looks like a nicely built piece of kit though, nice work.

The serial leads are disconnected inside the new drives, you still gotta bridge those in some way.
