I am not shocked in the least that they tooted their own horn over their Sept. post-price drop sales. It has *nothing* to do with the August sales!

My response would have been "Give it a month" and that's it.

What I want to see is if the 360 will start to take market away from the Wii. We keep saying that the Wii is selling because it was the cheapest. Now we get to see.

Aye, but the relevance of Sept events related to the August NPD sales figues? They were simply dropping that in to toot their own horns and had nothing to do with their spin on the August data.

They bang on about it every time figures are released.
I am not sure why. It is notorious for slow down this time of year and with the current financial climate hardly a shock.
They still outsold the PS3 in NA but both consoles are struggling at present.
The sales will increase with a price cut figure taken into account, next month, but so they should. The run up to Xmas is when they should be flying.

They aren't tooting their own horn, they are doing it because its free advertisement and what any other company in the world would do given the chance.
