Rumor: Xbox 360 holiday bundles to include family friendly games
Posted by XanTium | October 7 15:01 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From xbox360fanboy.com:
[QUOTE]
Just as was done last year, Microsoft may be looking to release special Xbox 360 packages that are bundled with a few free games to entice holiday console purchasers. And according to our insider Gamestop tipster, this holiday Microsoft will be bundling family friendly games with all three major 360 consoles.

We've been informed that the Xbox 360 Arcade model will come packaged with SEGA Superstar Tennis and both the Pro and Elite models will come bundled with Kung Fu Panda and LEGO Indiana Jones.

Games that even if they are free i don't want them, i would prefer that only the arcade model would have that kind of bunfle, leave the pro and elite alone.

bundled games are rarely great but are "free" and so not a bad deal.

the "family friendly" view may actually attract more attention from those doing most of the Christmas shopping (adults) and could be a smart move...

Good move again by MS.
Of course the DJ, Rapper Gangsta, Hardcore, I pwn everyone at Halo types will complain, as they see it as an affront to their perceived image of themselves, But consoles should have titles for everyone and encouraging the whole family to partake is a positive step. It could perhaps mean the console is in a place more accessible to the whole family and not in a teenagers bedroom where they lock themselves away from the whole family and outside world and begin believing gaming is reality.

MIght keep some parents away from the wii too for a xmas present. 1 great title and one mediocre one, hehe, but consoles typically dont come with games... so it's quite the bonus.

What's wrong with you? You're telling MS because for some reason you don't like a free game, they shouldn't give it to anyone else either? I know getting a free game must be detrimental to you, but leave everyone else in the market for a system alone. When I upgraded to an elite last year, I took it right back and swapped it out for one that came with Forza 2 and Ultimate... and I didn't even need the games but they were free so I took them. I felt like I got a better deal for my money...

BTW.. you don't need a tipster to tell you these things. It's on the coming soon of Game Stop's website. I just read it before coming here.

we might as well put "free" in quotes. i would much rather get a seasonal price break on the system, or have ms points bundled with it so i can get a game of my choosing.

that being said, forza and marvel appealed to a large audience, this is a movie game for a 7 year old to play for 4 hours before beating it. since when was forza/marvel not "family friendly" anyways? the difference is that a large number of people wanted those game, but this appeals to a very small group. lame package here. i expect a lot of these games to end up on ebay and used game shops very shortly.

why not PGR4 and Viva Pinata?

Hell bundle with Guitar Hero 2 or Aerosmith and watch the systems fly off shelves!

Because why bundle it when you will sell a ton of them separate from the system anyway... that's why. Was PG4 a good game? I originally intended to buy it and never did.

actually, guitar hero 2 and gh: aerosmith are old games, and are well beyond the point of selling off the shelves on their own. at the same time, they wouldn't bundle this with a new system, because it requires the guitar. pgr4 i could see them doing though. (i'm not too big of a racing fan, so no comment on how good it was)

the bundle's purpose is to appeal to people who haven't bought the systems, so the idea for picking a good game for a bundle is to pick a hit title (preferably exclusive, but if its big name, doesn't matter) that is getting old. at the same time, they wouldn't want to bundle an M rated game, as that would kill the family friendly image (where an E or T rated game wouldn't do that, and give a good selection). a good bundle would be blue dragon and kameo, or kameo and tony hawk 8
