Basically the same speeds, not worth the extra hdd space IMO.

Yes! I can save 17 secs each time I play!

Based on 4 gaming sessions per week - that's about 1 hour saved every year!

Amazing!

The only way this will be a "New Xbox Experience" is if I don't get the RRoD after two weeks. love.gif

Wouldn't you still be waiting for others with dvd's to load their maps before you can play.....

I think a big win from this will be the less wear and tear on the DVD drive. I have seen tonnes of failed drives that need new lasers. I think this will help.

it seems most people actually dont care about this. all i ever hear is people bitch and moan about an optional feature that saves their DVD drives because it doesnt give instant loading sleep.gif . im looking forward to this because my DVD drive will be silent during gameplay and it will last MUCH longer. fuck load times. as long as i dont have my drive die on me im good

I have this dashboard installed and the load times are 30-40% faster - I'm currently playing the Orange Box.

Oh and it's VERY quiet while playing!!

I agree its a positive anything that extends the life of these cheap unreliable DVD rom drives, but what does worry me is how the lifespan of the crappy HDD will be affected.

At the end of the day, if you know how to extract the key of your DVD rom, its gonna be far cheaper to replace the DVD rom than the 360 HDD.

If only the 360 hardware was reliable ph34r.gif

I agree only thing I keep thinking bad is we might start seeing a load of hard drives failing.

It's funny how people come in here and start the crying and moaning again when clearly you can see a speed difference also why keep moaning about it at the end of the day it's just another added function which can or can't be used.
