MGS4 on 360 Rumors Gain Ground Again
Posted by XanTium | October 14 23:52 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From xbox360.ign.com:
[QUOTE]
According to a Tokyo Game Show report from Japanese investment research firm Morningstar, Metal Gear Solid 4 may find its way to the Xbox 360 after all. Morningstar published a general article covering multiplatform trends that features a quote from a Konami public relations representative that should fuel rumors for months to come. The rep is quoted as saying, regarding MGS4, "We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360." While this isn't a confirmation of it coming, it does lend hope to those Xbox 360 owners who haven't plunked down money on a PS3.

Honestly, i've actually stopped caring.

I am a huge MGS fan. I think the storyline might just be one of the best in the world of gaming. The MGS2 port made the xbox purchase an easier pill to swallow all those years ago, and the original MGS gave the PSX real value.

That said, the 360 has a fantastic roster of games, and while it would be cool to get MGS4, it's really not going to make-or-break anyone's decision at this point.

Somehow I think the real reason Microsoft is giving us the option to install games to the HDD goes beyond
saving a few milliseconds of load time. They admited that it will work with multi-disk games so who knows?

Say it comes on 3 to 4 disks. You install them to the HDD and then use one main disk to play the game.
Or, have the game ship with a serial code that would allow you to download the rest of the game via Live.

Yea, it would be lame to wait for an install but it would solve the "storage" problem.

come on guys, we all know the PS3 is like a million times better and the 360 is so slow it would never be able to run it. and it is IMPOSSIBLE without blu ray!

but yeah...i'd love to play MGS4 on my 360. that being said, i'm not holding my breath and i'm not going to buy a PS3 to play it. but if it does come out on the 360 that will be another $60 in microsoft's coffers from me smile.gif

lol, remember the codec conversation between snake and otacon in shadow moses?

otacon tell snake to change disc, but snake cant find the disc 2.
then otacon realized that we're in blu-ray disc no need to change disc. >_<

that script will need to be edited if MGS4 released in X360.

maybe
otacon : snake, now you need to change to disc 2.
snake : why would i need to change disc?!
otacon : we're now on xbox 360, it use Dual Layer DVD disc. we neeed to change to disc 2
snake : i miss my bluray.... tongue.gif

>_<

We can hear a rebuttal on XS from microsoft in T minus 24 hours. Serious this will only be news when its actually confirmed by MS or KONAMI.

Other than that sounds like article editors are constatnly trying to stir the huge steaming crap pot.

Save up a few £$ and buy a PS3 if you really want MGS4. It's a PS3 exclusive so it's going to be better on the PS3. Really PS3's aint that dear now. If you don't like PS3 then I don't see why you should have MGS4. If this happens only Konami is in it for the money, the port will be crap.

Yeah, if you want this game, just go get a PS3. I'm not really willing to buy a PS3 for LBP and MGS4, but if you really want thoughs exclusives, you're going to have to get the console. Kinda how exclusives work

Even if the MGS4 rumor was true, I don't think you'd hear official confirmation until they had it running on the xbox.

as for multidisk. when you can compress the media as mutch as you like think one big zip file on a cd then just uncompress it in a installer you can save alot of space and use fewer disk. like amost every pc installer does.

You guys speak for yourselves, but this would be quite big for many Xbox 360 owners.
MGS4 didn't sell as well as Konami expected, and that was mostly due to the small PS3 user base.
Chances are that MGS4 will do better on the X360.

Even if it's a port, most of you guys are acting as if it would be a guaranteed half @$$ed port.
MGS2 on the Xbox had one slow down issue during a particular part of the game, besides that it was a solid port. Yet that was enough for fanboys to shoot it down as a crappy port. And thus the crappy port stigma for MGS4. But lets say an MGS4 port on the X360 has a few issues, I'm still saving $400+ from not having to buy a PS3. I'm sure the game will still be very much playable, and that's a sacrifice I'm willing to take for a cheaper price. I guess I just speak for myself in that regard haha.
However I am certain that I'm not alone on this one....

Up until now, this is the only game I would like to have from the PS3 exclusives. I'm not going to spend $400+ just for that, I don't care for BRay yet.

I'll consider grabbing it when a sequel to Shadow Of The Colossus arrives.

360 simply rocks my world for now.

I think there is a substantial amount of people who would love to have this game on the 360. I believe anyone who says that it can't be done on the 360 is mistaken. With compression and some adaptations, it could be done in no time. I love the MGS series but after the xbox was released I just loved it, and traded my PS2 away.

I started my online gaming using X-Link Kai(for anyone who remembers that) and got into a clan. From there I met many people who eventually converted into the 360 life and are my friends now on XBL. To spend $400 on a system for one game would just seem to be a waste to people like me who's Identity is on the Xbox side.

So i am fully behind this idea and hopefully it comes true. I think although games like this start off as console exclusive and inevitably shape how a console is perceived, I think making ports or cross platforms gives the experience to a broader range of people.

And not to be a fanboy, but alot of exclusives seem to be making the transition, FF, Tekken. Games I would never have thought would cross over...
