My 360 starting freezing the other day, and eventually turned into a full-blown RRoD. I got past the RRoD by removing the x-clamps and screwing the heatsinks directly to the case, but it's still freezing, and occasionally comes back to the RRoD. So, I think I'm going to pick up a new Arcade edition, but I'm wondering if it's easier/better to flash whatever drive is comes with or to rig it so the TS works in it (if it's even possible to spoof TS...I only know (very little) about MS25/28 spoofing). Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Wow, the exact same thing happened to me! It all started for me a few days ago when I got to level 7 in Dead Space. The screen went blank and the system froze up. When I rebooted it went to RRoD. Now, every game I try to play freezes a few minutes in and boots to RRoD.

I was also thinking about picking up an arcade version but I'm scared to death that it will be one of the uncrackable drives.

I honestly haven't been following things too closely since I hacked my firmware some time last year...I was hoping that by now there weren't any uncrackable drives, and when I briefly perused the pinned tutorial, it didn't look like any of them are (except for maybe the drive that comes in a devkit). Did I miss one?

I haven't been involved with the scene since I modded my launch 360 back in 2006 with the iXtreme 1.2. A co-worker told me today that the Benq6038, Hitachi v79, and Lite-On drives were not hackable but perhaps he just doesn't know what he's talking about. Sorry for the confusion, I'm on the board today looking for solutions myself so I'm not the best source.
