NXE Missing Xbox Live Arcade Auto-Downloading
Posted by XanTium | October 29 17:48 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From multiplayerblog.mtv.com:
[QUOTE]
While messing around with the New Xbox Experience on my home 360 last week, I had trouble finding my second favorite feature from the old dashboard: Xbox Live Arcade auto-downloading.

That feature allowed me to set my 360 to download demos of every new XBLA game any time I entered my XBLA games library and there was new content available. I was a big fan of the feature, because it enabled new games to come to me rather than me having to know about them and seek them out. Auto-downloading is not in the NXE.

Yesterday, a Microsoft rep confirmed to me that the feature "is disabled for the NXE launch," but added that "it may come back in a future release."

Thats alright, I use this feature and nearly every arcade demo has been crap or not worth the points. There is really only a few good ones out there tbh like RezHD. I might delete all the demos accept the games I bought and use the space for HDD Installs instead.

I've never used this feature and haven't really seen it as that useful either. Why would people want to fill up their harddrives with "spam" games tongue.gif

This "feature" has always been broken and never worked right.

Ever since this feature was implemented, I have ALWAYS and STILL have it set to "On". It would only work the first couple of weeks but only if I signed on to my 360 and Live the day a new game came out and has NEVER worked since.

I literally haven't had a single arcade game auto-download now in I think a year or more and it has only done it for 2 or 3 games since it came out.

So who gives a crap about this feature. It doesn't work right, not even close to working right, and isn't even a great feature anyway.

I still download every new arcade game's demo just because I have extra space on my 120gb hdd and also due to addiction. You see, I used to download and actually play every single arcade demo to try the games out but after 50+ crappy games I got sick of playing the demos but still download every one out of habbit. I still play about 1/2 of them though.

I log on my 360 about 4 days out of every week but I only check new stuff on the Marketplace to download about twice a month so I am always giving tons of time for my 360 to see there's new arcade game demos to download but it never does it.

Again, this feature is broken and always has been. How can it be this guy's "second favorite feature" of the current Xbox 360 dashboard? Are you serious?
