Ok I been flashing drive for quite a while and I just bought 8 systems on ebay that were listed as having bad dvd drive. I have bought several like this before and just flash a samsung replacement drive and everything is fine. Well with the first 4 systems out of the 8 I bought none of them are accepting the new drives so I suspect that the dvd key is incorrect in all the drives. Seems the actual drives that came in most are ok just programmed wrong or swapped from other systems somehow. Of course they were listed as is on ebay and its likely paypal wont help me out with the $430 I got shafted out of.
So basically I am asking am I stuck with a bunch of dvd players or has anyway possible to find the right dvd keys for each system?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no one is able yet to get a DVD key off the motherboard yet. If any of them had the old kernel in them they can be exploited... But to do the exploit you have to be able to play the King Kong disk to run it. You may have to sell them as parts and maybe you can get some money back that you put into it. I'm sorry to hear that you had that happen to you. I had a friend almost have that happen to him but he made the guy here that was local to us give him back his money.
I agree with Ranger. Contact the guy you got them from and ask for the right keys if he has them

its not the ebayers fault, they specified that the dvd drives are not working, and they are not. Maybe you should have asked first if the firmwares had been tampered with.
the only thing i can suggest is to try each drive in each console to see if they've been mixed up, other than that, good luck, lol
what type of drives are the ones that dont work?
