I have a Samsung ms25 drive, a couple weeks ago I was playing halo3 just fine. I put it in last night, 'unreadable disc'... again today. I put in splinter cell chaos theory... just fine. I have read and tried all kinds of things aside from just getting a new drive, which I don't want to cause I know it works with most of my games... I got a refurb 360, and from the time I got it, it made the grinding noise, but to this day only the occasional problem from a scratched dvd, no problem with my games.

pot calibration: was at 3.35, it's down to 3.14 now, should I go lower?
the magnet isn't coming out of the disc drive, it is firmly attached still

does someone have any other ideas, or can you link me to a thread that I have missed? Thanks for your help!

Well that happened to me also. Its a Media problem I guess...

My verbs are fine but my other discs (intenso) are not-so-fine.

Try cleaning the laser with alcohol and q-tips.
