When i was doing the ring of light mod, i originally started by solder bathing the leds which worked

But for some reason i started using desolder braid on two of the led spots. Now where the solder pads use to be is black squares and the solder wont stick to it.

What should i do?

Where can i draw the power from?

follow the traces and find another solderable spot.

And you might need to scrape away from trace coating to solder to it. And when you need to solder that, put the solder wire right up to the trace and melt it right on to it, so that the rosin-core keeps it securely on there.

The 'black squares' are the circuit board, you've ripped the pads right up, should have stuck with the method that was working. wink.gif

Where you'll have to go about soldering a jumper wire in to fix the problem depends on which pads were torn up..

Trace repair thread is in the Tutorials section. The part that deals with the 360 controller's LEDs is about the same as what you'll need to do to repair your problem, or you can go back to the easiest spot to solder a wire to that are shown in the above pics, since they're all traced out there.

I made them, and quite a few others in the Tutorials section, scanned the board and then traced them all out for whatever was needed.
