The message say something about "unregistered" consoles wont be allowed to sign into live. So technically once your console is registered, you should be smooth.

I really think that they are just spreading the update out. So that their servers dont crash when everyone downloads it at once.

I got picked as well, I think someone said they are spreading it around to lessen the pressure of the update, but with only picking 10k its not much of a dent with an installed base of 25 million. I'm just glad I won't have to go through the issues on the 19th the update will create .

I just got in too, weird thing is I think my console is banned (i have the leaked NXE so idk for sure) and if it is there is that phone number they gave that you aren't supposed to give out.

So if i can't connect i'll say I got the update and since then i can't connect and see if i can weasel my way around this ban

I got in too, that's great! I have the next 2 days off, I'll be able to mess around with it. Wish I had a bigger hard drive though.

To see how many consoles get bricked.

Basically, they are using the public as test subjects to see how many consoles die.

The Xbox 360 Fall Flash update will be available to you by 2pm PST on November 14th (5pm EST on November 14th, 10pm GMT on November 14th).

i got in - and its just started updating - unexpected - since i already had the leaky dash. ive had two reboots so far - and now im staring at a 'estimating time remaining' dialog thats been on screen for at least 15 mins - it occasionally shows me a time, all between 58 and 120 mins. bit worrying... how can this be so much larger? since i got the leaky dash i purchased a 120gb drive and installed about 10 games to the HD. it doesnt help that my internet is HSDPA but im worried about this huge delay - but the 'cancel update' button is equally scarey!

I had the leaked update as well. It did a quick update at first, rebooted then went to a longer update. The longer update took me about 4-5 mins to download. I think it was the program for avatar's. Because avatar's weren't enable on the leaked update.

you're connection must be slower for that last update to take that long? Then again all the literature said 128 megs were need for the update, and the leaked update was only 8.5 megs, so i guess the avatar portion is somewhat big, so if you're on a slow connection it would take a while to download.
