This means it may be the big toy under the tree this year. It also means stores may sell out and they might get hard to find again like last year when I upgraded to my elite.

Sony isn't dropping the price any time soon. They're not looking forward to losing money right now. On the other hand I've seen Magnavox bluray players at walmart for $250 and the Sony 300 model for $277 at Sam's Club last night.

You can't blame Microsoft for people who intentionally modified their game console. You can blame them for the hardware failures though... go ahead and have fun.

I don't think so. I think it's very on target. If you cannot afford a Ferrari, then DON'T BUY A FERRARI. It's that simple. You can't sit around blaming the company for the price point they set. Either buy it or don't. It's not their fault if you cannot afford it.
