hey guys. i installed a smarttxx on pogo pinson an early xbox. the hard drive was dead and i used the chip to simply lock another hard drive to the motherboard. after wiping and formatting the drive, i installed a fresh copy of the microsoft dash. the box was back to original specs (used an extra 8GB stock drive) and all was well. i then installed a softmod and pulled the chip out so the two would not conflict with one another. now the box frags without the chip, but boots fine with the chip. i have done this dozens of times, so i konw my method is okay, but maybe i damaged something on the board? has anybody seen this? thanks
