so now that jasper is out (finally after a 2 month delay) i have decided to start work on my new 360 (my xenon is getting old and i want hdmi) and i wanted to get a wip started before i was half done with it.

I have some ideas and some plans not much of them are set is stone (some cool stuff i have done in the past that i want to revisit with a twist, some new funky stuff i wanna try out and some twisted ideas of what others on the scene have done and are doing).

I have already done up 2 custom heatsinks that have been thoroughly tested on a jasper and will keep temps under 120F on 5v while idle (the gpu is still the hot side), right now they are still in the "Testing" faze, by the time im done they will be nice, shinny and hopefully glow in the dark or at least uv reactive.






i have also done some work on the external dvd drive but my cameras battery died before i could get pix of it, i will post them tomorrow if i have time.

altho i have already ordered most of the parts i need and have started working on stuff for the console i still haven't brought myself to buy a jasper yet (i used a friends to test) so there probably wont be any work done on the board/case, etc. until after chrismass.

please feal free to post questions, comments and criticism.

im expecting to be done by mid march and im hoping this wont turn in to another 5052 wip...lol.

i was wanting to get some video of the dvd drive ejecting (to show you it works great in the hddvd case) but my camcorder isent being recognized by my pc so i got some pix of it.






I will probably get the dvd drive window (and case dual window cut) done up this weekend, next post should be Sunday.

im sure that 360 lasted alot longer then 30 days, i just wasent able to repair it when i got it so i wiped all the major components (cpu, gpu, nb, nand, memory, etc.) and scanned it.

Progress Update:

I'm alittle bit behind, i dident get the hddvd top window even framed yet, i havent gotten the spindle holder cut out and its too late for me to dremel that out now, i did get the bottom window done and plexi cut for the odd window and here they are:






I Should have the odd cover mounted, the top window cut and be wiring up the db25 cable tomorrow, I will post pix when the edvd top window is done and odd cover is mounted.

Progress Update:

Ok First Off I Need More Paint!

im gonna find some frost, uv reactive and glow in the dark online tonight.

I got the Power

and Sata Cables

wired up to the DB25 Ports

To find out 1. theres too much interference on the sata cable and 2. the 30awg stranded wire in the cable isent thick enough to supply the drive with enough power to spin the dvd at full speed, so when you put a game in the drive turns off...lol, so i got some more headers and some hoods ordered and im gonna make a custom db25 cable using thicker wire and i will shield the 2 sets of data lines for the sata cable (i really want just one cable from the console to the drive) and hopefully i will be able to fit all that in a coax coat.

I did some more work on the windows, i got the top cut out and both are rounded in with small corners (the bondo'd cornner of the top window is because one of the peices of bondo from the air holes came off, i will get that sanded tonight) i still have alittle more work to do with them but they should be done tomorrow or friday.


I still havnt mounted the dvd cover altho i did get the spindle holder cut out, i have been working on smoothing out the flames with 180 and im going to etch them a little to add that on fire look.

I was down at the fabric store eairler and saw they had a whole bunch of leftover halloween fabrics so i grabed a yard of 5 different ones, im not sure that i will use any of them but they look pretty sick.
