I have an old fat psp with 1.50 fw. I haven't picked it up in a loooong time. I need to know the simplest way to update to custom firmware 5.00 M33-3. Any help would be appreciated.

The easiest way is to make a pandora's battery and use the latest Despertar del Cementerio to take you right up to the latest firmware
