Ballmer’s CES Keynote Promises To Be A Snoozer
Posted by XanTium | January 2 23:49 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From techcrunch.com:
[QUOTE]
Ballmer is a high-energy guy who can be entertaining to watch, but Microsoft just doesn't have anything exciting to announce this year. When Ballmer takes the [CES] stage at the Venetian in Las Vegas on Wednesday night it is going to be hard for the audience to stay awake no matter how much he yells at them.

Here's what Ballmer will "announce" at CES:
* Windows 7, the successor to Vista, will officially enter public beta (you can already read about it here).
* Windows Mobile will support Flash by the end of the first quarter. (This was demoed at an Adobe conference in November).
* Two new Halo titles will be released for the xBox in 2009 (something else we know already, whoopee).
* Home networking made easy! (I'm not kidding. This Microsoft's big advance, making it easy for multiple PCs in your home to find each other and share files.).

I assume they are referring to the RTS Halo Wars as one of the two new Halo titles... yawn. At first i was thinking Recon and another unannounced Halo game... i momentarily got a little excited over nothing.

home networking is already easy... at least in XP.. in vista, it is kind of annoying to set up.

Same =(

It's pretty hard for me to believe Vista is already going out of date. Hell, I am still stuck on XP.

Wow, I'm asleep already...

And of course Vista is out of date already. Mac commercials told us that it's going to crash and get viruses and all sorts of other things, no matter what we do rolleyes.gif

I'm still enjoying Vista, for the most part. Lot more stable than people make it out to be, and with the 'security popups', you pretty much need to be illiterate to mess up, badly. Tried a the 69xx build, myself, but it didn't like my sound card, so I took it off. 64-bit version doesn't seem too bad, though. (Even runs Pro Tools 8, which is supposed to be incompatible in 64-bit).
