Why dont't you use dosflash in manual mode for flashing the drives?

That limits you to using only the primary port on your SATA adapter with the way iPrep is written at the minute.
I've done it this way to allow the use of the external port on VIA 6421 Cards for all drives other than Lite-On.

I will take your sugestion on board and look at detecting more than the primary port of the controllers.

Just tried to flash a liteon drive and after typing lit_cfw.bin I got error message saying no bin found. As it turned out, dlit.bat does not copy the created cfw.bin to the root of the flash drive as where dosflash look for.

Hi mrCBeezy

Once you have created your bootable USB device open explorer, navigate to the Backups directory then create a folder ie: 7654321 then open that folder & create another folder ie: 54321 then copy your Lite_CFW.bin to this directory & rename it to Lit-CFW.bin. Thats it your now ready to reboot your PC & run iPrep. Once into iPrep follow the instructions on screen to flash a LiteOn, remember what you called the two directories you created as you will need to input these in order for iPrep to know where to look for the .Bin file.

Good Luck smile.gif

Whilst typing I'd just like to thank Klutsh for all the hard work, iPrep as my preferred flashing tool.....

I just downloaded iPrep 101 v008.8 and I am having troubles getting it to read the firmware for a Benq Drive. The Drive is the VAD6038 and I have the iXtreme 1.41 firmware downloaded as well but when I click to load the firmware I get the error "No Valid Firmware Loaded". I have used this bundle of firmwares before to flash other drives (not BenQ) this is my first attempt at these newer drives and have got no where yet... please help! Thanks in advance

Hello All,

Can anybody please tell me if I can use the probe with iPrep 101 v0008 ??? I have a Lite On drive. I have flashed a BenQ drive already.

I have seen the vids which explained the solder process, but I'm horrible at soldering. I have a probe, but I don't know if I could use it with the new iPrep. Any help will be greatly appreciated. ph34r.gif
