DVDKey32 v0.8.1
Posted by XanTium | January 25 20:19 EST | News Category: Xbox360
Team Jungle released a new version of DVDKey32, a win32 app that extracts the drive key from the Lite-On 360 drive via serial cable.
What's new/fixed: * Since the release of ix1.5, and the fact that orignal drives are now being erased, the potential for lost keys has risen. It's been shown that the serial interface is prone to minor errors. As parity is not used on the link these errors are impossible to trap. DVDKey32 will now do multiple extractions of the DVDkey for comparision. Hopefully, extracting the key multiple times should account for any glitches.

I'm hoping most people did multiple dumps anyway to compare. Does this mean we have to hold our screwdriver on the points longer to account for the multiple passes? Anyhow it's always good to see these apps getting updates, good work guys.

Great app! Always made 2 backups before using JF to read key and flash. Never experienced any difficulties with it, though. The text also states that the problems occur with the serial cable, nothing about USB... but who's to know. Thanks a lot for saving me the backups!

I rather use Dvdkey for DOS. I have extracted key from several LiteOns with Dvdkey for DOS and never had a single problem
You are gonna get someones console banned. DVDkey dos does not get all the needed info from the liteon drive. If you want to use DOS, then use the latest dosflash and latest firmtool!
