I have been researching this for a while and need some help getting this right.
I need to swap my Benq drive with a Samsung ms28. I have the original benq firmware and the key. Are the steps below correct?
1. Open FirmwareToolbox v4.8 2. Open ix15-Sam.bin (or soon to be 1.51) 3. Replace the key with my Benq key and save 4. Click Tools > Spoof firmware, and pick Benq 5. Flash the spoofed firmware
If that's correct, my problem is flashing the drive. I used Jungle Flasher with my benq drive, but the samsung drive completely locks up my system. I have a via 6421 sata card and it's plugged into the correct port. Can someone give me a quick run down on using this spoofed firmware with iPrep or DosFlash? Thanks.

Thanks for confirming the steps. Unfortunately, I'm unable to use DosFlash32 or JungleFlasher because as soon as I power on the samsung drive, it locks my computer until I power off the drive.

Yes, I have the portio drivers installed. I was able to flash my benq with JungleFlasher. It locked up my system every few seconds, but I was able to do it. Windows is completely locked up with the samsung drive powered on.

To fix the computer freeze issue try this,
Uninstal the driver for the via card. You dont need a via driver as port i/o is the driver used for flashing. It can access the via card directly thru port i/o
When you unistall it from the device manger you will have to reboot and wonderful windows will automatically reinstall the via without giving you any way to opt out.
My solution was i manually renamed the driver file viamraid.sys to riamraid.sys.fu so that windows could not find it.
Now everytime i reboot my computer says it cant find the file but at least it doesn't install and lets me do my flashing.

That's good to know. Might have made my Benq flash easier.
Windows automatically created the viamraid.sys file after renaming it, so I deleted the inf and pnf file related to the via sata card and now Windows doesn't automatically install the driver. I'll report back what happens. Waiting for the new firmware to come out to go any further. Thanks for the help.

Good job figuring out how to stop windows from auto installing the driver. I wrote those instructions from memory. Glad you figured it out even with my inacuracy You should try powering up a drive and see if it still locks your computer.
