Flashed my Benq with jungleflasher. It was very easy, but when it was supposed to say "write verifed OK" it said "Write verified failed"! Scared the heck out me. Tried several times, but kept getting the same message. I just plugged my 360 back up, tested a back up of HAWX and presto, it works!! Don't know why it said fail though...anyone else have that problem??

Ok not new here but haven't done a drive in a while so here goes. First thing is I run Vista 64 bit, and I am guessing that is the problem as Jungleflasher is not seeing my Benq drive, but it shows up on the bootup.

I also don't see the drive in explorer tho.

My head hurts from all the reading, anyone point me in the right direction as I got my brother coming over tomorrow and I wanted to test it out on my Benq drive first.

Thanks

Never mind, moved everything to my son's PC XP 32 bit and flashed benq which was already spoofed to a Hitachi 47. Every thing went perfect.

Damn VISTA 64

Does anybody know if an onboard nForce3 SATA controller will work with Jungle Flasher ?
I have an iextreme 1.4 Hitachi 79FL drive and just want to be sure.. just in case.

My nforce2 SATA controller worked just fine with 79FL. I guess nforce3 should be no exception wink.gif

A bug for jungleflasher, my MS-28 which is spoofed to a hitachi 79FL (used fwtoolbox to do the ix1.5 spoof previously, so unlock was done with the 1/2 open tray) would only work (inquiry) under the hitatchi tab - using jungleflasher to flash or dump the MS-28 became impossible.

Dosflash32 worked out well though (it goes more by the onboard chip instead of the spoof string), and jungleflasher's first tab handled the spoofing great.

The tutorial states:

QUOTE("JFlasher Tut")
You need to power on the drive with Eject status closed but Tray Half Open –To do this using
an Xbox 360 as Power source, eject the DVD drive, then, press eject to ‘close’ the tray. Now this
is the important part –you MUST remove the DVD power plug from the DVD Drive BEFORE it
closes fully.
Wait for a few seconds and replace the power plug into the DVD drive taking extreme caution
to plug the plug the right way around –once done, the drive is now powered, console thinks its
closed but it is in fact half open.

Just to be sure: you have to disconnect the SATA cable from the drive to the console after this procedure is completed, right? Cause the tutorial doesn't state this, so you could also think, that the drive shouldn't be connected to the console via SATA at all during the process.

Sry if that is something very basic - flashing for the first time (myself).

EDIT: this step is from the LiteOn procedure of course.

For those having trouble getting into xbins you may want to try the FW on Efnet if the bins is overloaded.

Quick question:

If I have a fully verified dummy.bin and the hacked firmware, and also a 1.5 iXtreme 360, how do I use Jungleflasher to reflash?

You leave the SATA cable connected to your PC connected to your 360, and only pull the DVD power plug connected to it from the 360 when needed to.

Seems like a dangerous idea to move around in a powered 360 since there's a chance of shock should someone slip up.

Question see if you guys can help me out on this . cause I got some things mixed up on my head.
I got Benq flashed with Ixtreme 1.5 done through the DOS old flash method. I got the drives original firmware as well.

Can I

- reflash the drive being ixtreme 1.5 with the new ixtreme 1.51 firmware on DOS ?

- can I use jungleflasher with my drives original firmware to generate a new patched one with ixtreme 1.51 and afterwards flash it on DOS on top of Ixtreme 1.5 or I just need to revert the drive to stock firmware?

I just prefer doing it the old DOS way. Besides I don't understand when on Jungleflash tutorial they talk about unlocking the drive , they say Device ID unlock / Vcc trick and I don't want to do any mod to my drive to be able to unlock it.
Like always thanks a bunch for your help biggrin.gif

Sweet. Just flashed my 79FL. I used Jungleflasher to put it into modeb and unlock then used 360FW-Toolbox-46 to restore the stock fw, then JF again to flash ix1.51.

I think im going to have to try reinstalling. The Mode B button is now permanatly greyed out on my sata port address. It re-activates on the other ports, but as soon as I go back to 9800 which is the one I use, its back to being greyed out. I am having to use the old ModeB utility seperately to get the drive into mode B before firing up jungleflasher.
Its weird, as it worked 1st time, but never again after that.

Will there be a new firmware toolbox with the new 1.51 firmware?

I loaded a hitachi ix1.51 firmware into fwtb and it loaded it fine, showed the key and fw version and drive speed, so should be fine for flashing as it is.

abgx360 has been updated to v1.00 for the 3rd wave, available from their site.
