I had no problem modding my original xbox with the xecutor 3 on a 1.6 motherboard. I can solder, I can build computers, I have all the intermediate knowledge of computers but when it comes to modding my firmware there just seems to be SO MUCH info that I can't piece it all together.

Here is what I have gathered:

I have a Ben Q drive
I have this motherboard: Newgg.com Item
I have a USB flash drive

Do I need any other hardware? I've heard some say you can't do this with an AMD mobo/cpu, I've heard some say you need an xtractor, I've heard debate on whether to leave the drive halfway open or not...

I can't tell whether I should use Jungle flasher or DosFlash and what the specific tutorial is to use that has the most accurate steps... Xbox-scenes tutorials seem out of date..

Can anyone point me to the right tutorial?

Use JungleFlaser
360 DVD ROM hooked up to VIA Sata chipset
Power the drive using your Xbox

Seems to be the cheapest method for you.

No need for Xtractor, although you can use them, but no need.

Drive half open/closed? Has worked both ways for people.

Use JungleFlasher 1.51, on welcome screen click User Guide for tutorial for Benq Flashing..
