Are there such things?

I ask, since I've been downloading and installing a lot of software for the xbox.
Some of the download links have lead me to some "shady" websites, which make me uncomfortable with the downloads.

So, are there any viruses designed for the Xbox that I should watch out for?
If there are, is there any way to detect them / scan for them? What are the common symptoms of an xbox virus infection?

No "viruses" in the classic sense.

In theory people could write programs to wipe your drive etc.

But most newbies seem to be able to manage that on their own, so the virus idea becomes redundant. smile.gif

Hahaha!
You sure got that right.. I can vouch for it from my own experience.

Strange though, how hackers haven't targeted xbox apps for malware distribution (being it part of the M$ empire they so dearly love to hate).

Yes, 'cause I'm sure MS is really happy about all those functioning modded consoles out there. wink.gif

At the end of the day, any serious cracker understands that he's not gonna get anyone's banking details out of an X-Box.
