Easy Free Form Rapid Fire Mod for CG Controller

This mod was designed to work with wireless CG controllers. I am not sure about it working with the matrix board since it does not incorporate a NPN transistor. I have not tested it on "MATRIX", so feel free to try it. I am positive that it works on the CG boards, just follow the diagram.

I do not take full credit for this, i made the diagram easy to read and modified it slightly. The basic design was from someone else.

On the TLC 555 Timer, it is facing with the legs down in the diagram. If you look closely the you will see the little circle or notch in the top off the timer, so position your chip that way when soldering and making the connections.

Good Luck, but you really shouldn't need it because it is pretty simple.

why the 1k resistors for the triggers? I used it to make my 3 turbo controllers and the triggers work fine with out the 1k resistors for the triggers. If it makes it better some how please let me know I'll have to fix my controllers then
My 3rd controller is not uploaded yet
CG rapid fire mod plus added turbo buttons.

K looking to understand this so I'll explain for others what's going on.

pin 1 and 8 is power and ground, simple enough.
pin 4 is reset. We connect it to POWER (pin 8) so it never resets.
pin 5 is use to control output voltage. We want to let this float. Capacitor is used between it and ground to clean up noise.
pin 6 is threshold.. not exactly sure what's going on here
pin 3 is output. It's always going up and down, but the rapid fire switch simply connects it to the trigger so the trigger fires.
pin 2 is alternatively charged and uncharged (through cap). This rate determines the speed of the RF.
pin 7 has a potentiometer for adjustable speed. The higher the resistance, the long it takes to charge the capacitor and the slower the rapid fire is.

I'm sure I'm mostly wrong though. Someone correct me.

WHAT! I just sold my 2 controllers in my tut too....Well now I got to get them back fix that!! ASAP.. I wish the free-form Tut you posted said that lol.

Also in QuikSurfer332 pic he has a 1k resistor at pin 7 to 8..... In salincer tut there is a 10k....so which one is it. lol

Basically you want the minimum amount of current that will be read. Saves power and prevents frying.

I mean, the chance of that happening with no resistors is little to none. But which schmatic/Method did you use?

I used the one In my tut.
All the added buttons have 1 wire connecting to each button lead then connecting to pin 3 of the timer. Pin 1 ground wire to controller board ground. Pin 4 power wire going to the on/off switch. Which then connect to the power point on the controller.

I am using the 10k resister at pin 8 and 7.
What is the deal with the 1k resister from in 8 to 7 in the pic?
Also the power wire from in pin 8 in the pic? I don't see how it will make a difference.
Salincer tut
