I haven't been around for a while, so please pardon if it's an old question, but what happened to the music scrapers? I have over 300 albums scanned in with the CCDB 2 years ago, but after updating XBMC to the 2.0 stable build the only available scrapers are Allmusic and Israelmusic (garbage sites in IMHO) which return only inaccurate info, if anything at all. 99% of the time a search locks up my box for 5 minutes and returns nothing. The ID3 tags still scan, but I miss the album art and info panels! Has this been addressed in this new build, or are the good scrapers gone forever? Without detailed info, XBMC is no longer my first choice for music..........and with its limited ability to play the newer SD codecs (such as WMV) on Xbox it may soon lose its appeal for video as well. It seems lately I have to reencode everything before my Xbox can play it, as even AVIs with SD aspect ratios are stuttering. It is not a hardware issue, as I have 3 boxes all running the same build, with same issues. I have upgraded to many of the newer builds and been greatly disappointed, always returning to Stable.
FTR, I'm not complaining, I love XBMC! It's just a little like watching your girlfriend get old and saggy.............
ALL OF THIS IS XBOX SPECIFIC! I do not use the WinXp or Linux versions, both crap IMO. They'll never beat what Xbox had!

There was an agreement a while ago within the dev group to make XBMC scrapers legit. AFAIK there are nolonger scrapers video/audio for sites which have not agreed to be scraped. Scrapers must be kept upto date with the website they are scraping. You cannot expect scrapers in older versions of XBMC to work with current websites. If you want to use an older version of XBMC for stability I imagine you must use up to date scrapers (assuming they are compatible) or you will get nothing! The discogs.com scraper works perfect (at least it did two weeks ago) and discogs is THE definitve site for high quality/consitency information. It should be everything a music lover needs ... Bernd This post has been edited by DaBernd: Apr 27 2009, 06:56 PM

QUOTE(Deihmos @ Apr 26 2009, 08:56 PM) hmmm. The xbox 360 already plays all of them including HD. That's why I stopped using XBMC.
Humm? xbox 360 doesnt play anything... with the xbox 1, i just go to my hdd right click it in my pc and share it, and i can play everything. While in the 360 doesnt play a shit... XBOX is still the best... + my xbox is online all day long for playing electronic music from web radios, because i already got like 100GB of electronic/disco sounds in my pc ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway i updated my XBMC to this version, but when i click XBMC credits, nothing happens, some of my old themes doesnt work any good (like vision), and xbmc 360 has somethings fucked... And my xbox is still stucking when i let it play a web radio music for too long, when i go to change to other it just get stucked, at least i hope the sound doesnt fail like the one released in december or something- + I had lot's of music visualizations, i have more than 1000 which iv been getting over the years, but now with this xbmc, the list dissapear and also cant acess the settings... QUOTE(Bomb Bloke @ Apr 28 2009, 01:42 AM) The XBMC credits were broken for years (the list was outdated and the font was messed up), so they were eventually removed altogether. Skins shouldn't have an option to play them any more (assuming they're up to date).
What tha? But hey at least the oficial release of December the XBMC credits were working just fine for me... This new XBMC sucks, can't even do any thing with music vizualizations... I will fully upload the original T3CH release for my xbox hdd, and see if it also has problems, because i may be having problems because i updated from the december version... Keep Cool

Hey folks, hoping you all powerful peeps can help.
Been using XBMC for a number of years and decided to update it for the first time in ages. Using a softmod that booted directly into XBMC that is located in /E/XBMC/.
I've downloaded the latest revison from T3CH and FTP'd onto the box via the DVD2Xbox app to rename my old XBMC to XBMC2 and then copy the latest revision (Unzipped XBMC folder) to the /E/.
The new XBMC boots up a treat and seems to work perfect for all but one thing, which is connecting to my media server. I have copied my old sources.xml /E/XBMC/UserData folder and when I select one of the media options in XBMC I can see the correct list.
When I select Server from the list I get an error saying:
Remote Share Could not connect to network server
My sources.xml defines the locations as follows:
<video> <default></default> <source> <name>1) --------- This Xbox ---------</name> <path>F:\Videos\</path> </source> <source> <name>1) DVD-ROM drive</name> <path>D:\</path> </source> <source> <name>2) --------- My Network ---------</name> <path>smb://</path> </source> <source> <name>2) Server</name> <path>smb://WORKGROUP;username:password@Server/</path> </source> </video>
If I go back to my old setup it works straight away with the same sources.xml so can't understand what is different with the new version that makes it not understand the xml file.
Anyone out there that can help me?
