iXtreme 1.6 to be released on 3 Year anniversary for ixtreme 1.0
Posted by Iriez | April 27 00:39 EST | News Category: Xbox360
Just a little update to announce the official release date of the new ixtreme firmware!
Here is the original xboxhacker thread where commodore4eva first made himself a very well known public figure. It was the initial 1.0 release for iXtreme xbox360 firmwares. To celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the first release, we will be releasing Liteon, BenQ, and Samsung versions of xbox360 iXtreme firmware replacement. As usual, Hitachi always comes last. Incase you are all wondering why Hitachi comes last, it is because that drive takes roughly 10 times longer to create the firmware for, due to so many different versions of the drive.
For those who wont or did not read the xboxhacker thread above, the official release date is set for May 14th, 2009. Features will include: -Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot! -Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs! -Support for SS V2! -Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2! -Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc! -One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk -to activate each time! -Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon! -Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!
For those of you who wish to contribute to the project, there is a donate button on the first section of the utility used to flash your xbox360, JungleFlasher(info).
iXtreme has taken quite literally thousands, if not in the tens of thousands of hours to produce, maintain and support, not to mention over 50 thousand dollars worth of professional equipment to break the technologies behind the LiteOn security. So for those of you out there who think this is all free, think not! Just free to you :) We appreciate all the forms of support out there, to the people who create software to aid the modification process, and each and every person out there who has spent his or her personal free time to help another user on the forums, IRC, or real life, to modify their console.

"Support for SS V2!" What exactly does this mean? will it make it even safer to play on LIVE? Does it do anything to prevent AP25 from detecting modded drives?

wow I had no idea that this kind of effort and dedication had been put in to mod a dvd drive for use simple foke here at X-S for free. I mean 50 thousand dollars in equipment? Not to mention all those hours put in to make it all useful. Excellent job to all of you who worked on making iXtreme possible.

This release has nothing to do with AP25. Its not even been proven that it is being utilized yet. There are a few members in our crew and in the scene that have been aware of AP25 for about a year. The reason we do not publicize such information is because of questions and presumptions like the one above. No, what you are not doing is bad, just atypical. We do not want to have to put out the fires when the fires have been created out of recklessness, ignorance, or misunderstandings. People ask about 'ap25' when they dont have the slightest clue what it is.
Please do not ask about AP25 or anything related to it. It is a non-issue for the moment. When it becomes a issue, we will address it.

Hmmmm, not harping on anyone thats taking their time, money and resources to do this for us. 50 thousand dollars? Are you guys funded by Sony? Thats a hunk of change just for someone to throw out like that just on 1 drive. I have always wondered if one of the programmers is an insider for MS or Sony just speculation that is all
PS Looking forward into more info on SSV2 and One shot boot mode.
Once again thanks guys!

That thread is about the release of the first Xtreme firmware (it didn't have a version number), iXtreme 1.0 was released on May 29th, 2007.

Pretty jazzed about this. I love/appreciate all these hardcore mother fuckers hopping on the ball to provide us, the less technically inclined, with the latest and greatest protection for our backups. Cant wait.
And holy balls, 50k? Where do they get this cheddar?

If "free" means $20 a pop, sure thing pal! I personally never charge any of my friends to mod their boxes. And even if I did, I would send some back to the Jungle team as respect. Like a "don" thing.
