Which chip is burnt? As long as the SST chip is fine, and it should be as the RAM chip (EliteMT) is usually the one that fries, then the SST chip can be removed and the key extracted from it with a programmer.

Yer technically fine, the key is on the SST chip and I've recovered them from ones that had the Elite chip burnt before, that damage doesn't get over there, so there's hope for getting a new drive installed, you can kiss that one goodbye though as repairing it isn't gonna happen.

What needs to be done is the SST chip needs to be removed and either swapped over to another Samsung drive, or removed and dumped with a programmer. Both methods require some skill and tools that ya may not have, and if ya don't then sending the drive off and having it done is the best thing ya can do, if the SST chip is damaged too much you will loose the key and won't be able to get a new drive installed.
