hi all
my 360 started to fail to read discs, and got to the point where it wouldn't read anything. luckily, i have a friend who has a spare 360 with a rrod error just lying around, so i've taken the dvd drive from that. since doing this, the drive reads discs, but recognises all games as dvd's, and when you play them it plays the "please put this disc in a 360 to play it" video thing
the dvd drive i replaced was not the same model as the one i put in afterwards. the one i put in is older than the one i took out.
I'm just wondering if there's a way to make it recognise the games as games again, or am i stuck?
thanks for any help on this.
The easiest way to go is to find a same or similar dvd drive with yours and exchange(or you can call it swap) the controller board to the new drive. In this way your XBOX's key will be on the new drive without a sweat. You need some minor technical skills to do it (few screws or solding to do). Good luck.
