New Jasper Motherboard with 512MB internal MU
Posted by XanTium | June 17 01:04 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Braza posted pictures of a new jasper motherboard with a 4gbit Samsung NAND inside on the XBH forums. This found has been confirmed by some of our forum members as well.
This Xbox360 is a Japanese Arcade SKU made on april 9th 2009.
The motherboard still seems like a Jasper-model, only real change seems to be the NAND. The extra space is all used to give you a larger internal memory unit. The original Aracde Jasper has a 2gbit NAND and gave users an ~214MBytes of usable internal memory as around 16MB is used by Microsoft for kernel/keyvault/dash etc. So we guess the new one should give you ~496Mbytes of usable internal MU.

My skepticism radar is going off. Why move from 256 to 512? There has to be some reason.

Several sources have confirmed that new Xbox Experience part 2 is already in development atm ... that will be available during the same time as of NXE last year. The New Experience will not only have support of these mentioned features facebook, twitter, SKy HD but also support for 3D titles such as James Cameron's upcoming Game "The Avatar" which is set for release during christmas time.

Im expecting with the release of 3D Stereoscopy game support ... Xbox 360 will support 3D movies as well so consumers can enjoy both content together.

And cuz of this it will require bit more space.

There's no point being skeptical, the pictures are right there in front of you. With more and larger download content being available why should anyone complain about having more memory?

maybe because there is no longer any cost benefit between adding 256mb or 512mb of flash memory.

Why stop at 512mb, stick an 8GB or even 16GB flash in there for all that actually costs. Would get them some nice PR.

that's a good idea.

that would actually stop the Arcade from being the gimped version - & *might* shut up some of the PS3 fanboys.

Not really, upgrade the HDD's in the Premium to 120 and Elite to 250 or 320.

This way they can state now that even with the arcade bundle you can download a full 360 game from the NXE.

Flash memory is so cheap these days. Why not just put a couple gigs in there?
