I know this is a common one but I wanted to see if it might be my burner...I recently purchased Tiger Woods 10 and now that I have my drive hacked I have been in the habit of making backup copies...this said I go to play my TW '10 backup copy and I get though like one or two holes then kablammo "This disc is unreadable". Now before you go flaming me for the media I have had successful burns with 3 of my other games on the media I am using (TDK DL +R). So I am thinking it is either a bad dump (but it passed check) or the burner (which is a Sony DRU-720a) it's self or the media.

I was kind of wondering before going out and buying Verbatim media if it might be my burner (it's really old) Any guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Mindstrm

Defantly get some Verbatim, Trying one disk is cheaper then buying a new burner. And if it still does it then you know its your burner or the xbox drive its self.

Look on the bottom of one of your disks whats the burn patten look like are there some wavey burn marks. Thats a good sighn you need a new burner.

yeah that's your problem then. Verbatim is the best way to go. I ran into the same problem with Memorex DL +R DVD's. Go verbatim. you won't regret it. Newegg has them right now 24.99 with free shipping

I've been having similar issues spinning xbox360 backup copy games, they burn fine using imgburn on my samsung TS-H552U burner on verbatim DVD+R DL 8x disks. The game will load on the xbox360 but at various stages will fail with disk unreadable or black screen. It started happening after I rebuilt my PC due to O/S issues and now all my burns no matter what the game cause this issue, any ideas?

Burner Type: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U US09 (ATA)
L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,913,760
Burn Speed Setting: 2.4x

Think I have resolved my issue by burning my DVDs on 4x speed instead of 8x or 2.4x using the Verbatim 8x media.

I am having the exact same problem. I have singapore Verbatims with a new LG DL burner. I noticed on the first few of burns i have done so far, the drive would not burn at 2.4x even though the burn rate is set to that in both imgburn and clonecd. It tries to push it to 4x although the average is somewhere north of 3.5x when the job is done. I will try as you suggested and burn it at 4x and see if that helps. Otherwise I will try it on another machine with a different DL burner. I'll let you know what I find.

I'm just throwing this out here... Assuming the media, rip and burner are okay you guys could have the same problem I did a while back and that is the 360's HDD had become corrupt partially somehow. I would play my backups of (and originals) or bad company and midnight club LA and whenever it went to autosave it would say disc unreadable, and when installed to HDD it would say the same. I ended up troubleshooting by pulling the HDD and played and it worked great. So I wiped the drive and that fixed it. You may use XSATA or something similar to backup the HDD before the wipe so you retain the data, that's what I did.
