Not that too many here are really keen on karaoke games, but I wonder how these microphones differ from those released with the original mic-compatible games like Lips.

It's funny how on the Windows side Microsoft expresses how different and better it is than Apple yet on the Xbox side they have as much if not a more archaic/proprietary mindset. Nintendo aren't really any better but at least Sony are semi-open to more user control over peripherals and such. It makes a lot of economic sense in the short term but I don't believe this type of business model will survive well into the future. People get tired of it eventually and I'd hope the next generation of parents with a technological background teach their kids a thing or two. It's our money that keeps them going, I'm not going to give them mine if they hand me back something on their terms. How many people own cellphones and hate their provider? Probably a huge number but people still pay out their a** for a service they don't really 'NEED'.
