Exclusive Pictures: XNA Prototype 1GB Dev Kit with Full Sidecar
Posted by XanTium | July 18 21:48 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Last weekend we posted the first pictures of an Xbox 360 dev kit with 1GB of RAM. That device, 'Frankie the 1GB XNA', was a custom modified devkit with just the 512MB-RAM-addon without the rest of the sidecar. Today we managed to find a source who could offer us exclusive pictures of a 1GB XNA prototype development kit with the entire, blueish, sidecar.

XNA Xbox360 devkits are the latest iteration of development units released by Microsoft, they come with the new sidecar that includes an extra 512MB of RAM (used to run debugging tools so developers can use all the original 512MB of RAM for the game, it's very unlikely Microsoft has plans to upgrade retail units) and a jasper-based motherboard with an internal Memory Unit.

dev kits are not like retails, they take any HDD (upto 250gb last time I heard, but that might have changed)

Nope, from what i've seen XNA kits have blue inner (power) LEDs and Red (outer) "Rings"... looks freakin' awesome if you ask me..

So.. theoretically, i would assume the red-lights would be blue if it errored, lol!

Some prototypes have their normal LED color for the inner(power sign), but their inverted color for the outer ring, Xenon Beta Kits, etc. For instance, my Xenon Beta 2 Kit has a green inner light, and a red outer ring of light, and when it redrings, the LEDs will be green on the ring of light.

That's exactly what's happening here I'm assuming, so no, it shouldn't be erroring, judging off the pictures there's one controller plugged in = 1 light. So gamerfreak1727 is correct.

Nice kit anonymous.

I'm sure some people will again be puzzled that the TV's brand logo has been censored. laugh.gif

I highly doubt that. If it was so, wouldn't the blurred/blocked items be on the console, instead of off to the side.

Even without confirmation of colours, if it was an error, the lower right quadrant would be lit, not the top left!
