Sorry if this is the wrong forum but can i use a normal PC headset for use on live if i get an adapter so i can plug it into the controller?

You can use any PC headset on an XBOX with an XJacker kit:

XJacker - Use any PC headset as an XBOX 360 headset (XBOX headset adapter)

They work really well, are inexpensive, and reliable. You may want to even get their Gaming Headset Amp Kit, which is only US$19.99 and sponsors of a MLG pro team.
