The original Unreal Championship has an abysmal framerate and I want to say I remember a patch on LIVE a long time ago to fix this.

Now that we can have it on HDDs and look at the config files for the engine, is it possible to tweak the engine and get it to run with a better framerate?

I don't know if it's possible to easily alter UC's framerate, although since it runs on a variant of the Unreal Engine then it's possible that it has some configuration files in text format. Anyway, you can download the patch for the game, and all known patches for all XBox games, from:

I hope this helps.
