More information would be helpful. Is your DVD drive flashed to play backups? What games are you trying to play that won't boot?

Are you a first owner of that console or you bought second hand?
If you bought second hand, your console might be flashed before with older firmware. rolleyes.gif

I have no clue. For me, I gonna go and flash that drive.
If your console is under warranty, try to find out with the place you bought.

Do you smoke or have alot of furry pets? Not so much the pets, but an xbox around smoking will eventually have laser fail when trying to read games. A disk cleaner mat fix it for a short time, but sounds like you need a new drive.

I'm agree. Tar from smoking cause lens problem.
I saw about 5 console with yellowish sticky thing inside DVD drive.
If you fell good, change your drive laser lens.
You can get it from eBay store. Less than $15. sleep.gif

Here is eBay link.

get that and remove anti-static solder before fix on your DVD drive.

Or get someone to replace for you.
