Hi,

my mate has a dodgy liteon drive as it seems to have stopped reading discs. I tried to tweak the laser but it only worked for so long. My question is, can this drive be spoofed to another drive? I have a couple lying around that I could use. He has ixtreme 1.6 on his drive but unfortunately he doesn't have the original keys. Could this be done? I can't seem to find a drive to buy and swap the boards with on e.g. Ebay, from the UK. I've never spoofed a drive before so I'm not entirely sure where to begin.

Is it already flashed?
If yes, you can just connect it to your pc, run jungleflasher and click button spoof as ixtreme.

If not, which fw do you have? 74850C or 83850C?

Yeah its already flashed to 1.6. Also, it was a 74850c drive. What do you think? Can it be done?

Yep.
Reading and flashing has nothing to do with laser, so if you can buy new drive, you are good.

As i said, try to connect it through sata port to your PC, run jungleflasher, go to the DVDKey 32 tab, select correct IO Port and click on Dummy from iXtreme - this should work wink.gif

You do not need RS232-TTL converter to get key anymore
