Hi All

I have a dead Xbox 360 which has a fully working Philips & Benq DVD Drive.

I have found an Xbox 360 on Ebay which works fine but has a broken Samsung DVD Drive.

Can i swap out the broken Samsung drive and replace it with my working Philips & Benq drive?

Thanks

Trebz

Answer... Maybe.

If someone tried to flash the samsung and screwed it up so you cant get the key off of it, then no.

You need to flash your benq with the dvd key from the samsung. Spoof the benq as a samsung and it should work. However if you cant get the dvd key from the samsung unit, you will be out of luck unless you read the nand from the motherboard inside the xbox from which the samsung came out of, but that process is quite a bit if you don't know what your doing, but I have successfully done it myself, but I also know what I am doing most the time. But just straight swapping them will not help you in any way.

Mahalo,

Thanks for the info matey.

As i mentioned in my 'Xbox 360 RROD' post...i think i'll just give up and go back to using my Xbox MK1, XBMC, 500GIG HDD, X2.6, Remote Controlled, 15,000 games....blah blah blah heheheh

Cheers all the same ;-)
