So I just opened up my 360 arcade to find the dreaded Lite-on 74850c. BOOOOOO!!!! So what's the scoop out there? Do any of you guys loan Maximus Xtractor tools out to people through the mail or anything? I'd hate to buy all the equipment just to use it once. Anyone up for loaning it out? I'd be glad to pay a PayPal deposit on it so you can be sure I'll send it back to you once i'm done! Or can someone flash the drive itself for cheap? (Without sending the whole system)? Thanks!

748s are very moddable and no problem of any kind.

That is a great drive to mod.

I got lucky too. All 5 of the Arcades I got today have that drive. I was more worried about getting stuck with the new drives that cant be modded.

850s are random too. I was able to flash an "august2k9" yesterday. its supposed to be not moddable so I obviously didnt take any chance and tried with a spare drive first. WORKED! sure it gave me some trouble at first but eventually I dumped the drive and worked. so far I personally didnt run into any unmoddable liteons yet(never seen 940s either)

That is a great drive to have. Your best bet would be to pay someone to flash it. After that you'll be able to flash it without a probe. A reliable member around here, Chessmastor, flashes any drive for $20 shipped.

Well, I guess I was hoping for an easy 5-minute flash like with mu current Toshiba/Samsung. smile.gif I was hoping for an easy flash without shipping it away or buying additional hardware.
