hi my m8 has a ck3 pro, he has installed portio32 and xp usb however when he turns it on it freezes his pc up

he has got onboard sata

and the latest .net framework

any ideas

did he install teh USB drivers? I have never heard of a ck3 or xtractor pro freezing up windwos when powered on without a DVD drive, so if it is locking up when a dvd drive is plugged in then the issue is the drive. all the ck3 pro does is provide power to the drive nothing more!

First off, i'll doubt that he'll ever answer (6 months topiic revival...) and second, you're wrong.
It's a common issue related to bad drivers, MS drivers are faulty (Windows tries to init the drive and fails).
He needs to replace the via drivers, and there it goes.
