Quick Question About Save Games, when a console is banned... Options

When a console is banned, does it invalidate (make unable to use on a legit console) all the save games on storage attached the console, or are the save games only invalid if a save is made on the console after it has been banned?

I asked because I was disconnect from live while playing some single player. I promptly returned to the dash (without saving) to try to log in to XBL and it told me I was banned. I was just wondering if the save games on my HDD are still good to use with original games in an unmodded console, or if they've all been corrupted for having been associated with a now banned console? I didn't make any further saves after the console was banned.
