i'd like to build a console-like emulator arcade system thats as convenient as a modded xbox. by that i mean a small pc box running an arcade frontend, that can run entirely from power-up to shutdown via a gamepad. also it would plug into a variety of TV's (eg a 32" vga lcd, or a 21" s-video crt) and automatically display full screen without having to mess with resolutions. finally i'd like it to be compatible with a usb joystick (competition pro) for use with amiga and c64 emulators.

could someone tell me if this is possible?
